At the foot of the Vaucluse plateau, the island is called "La Venise Comtadine" old village with 21'000 inhabitants, 25 km from Avignon, 20 km from Carpentras, 80 km from Marseille. All shops, restaurants etc. in the resort. Attractions. 2nd oldest town in France, bricabrac and rustic market on Sunday morning. Music festival in July. Town is famous for its paddle wheels.
